To assist Calderon Fiduciary Office and Trustee in fulfilling our fiduciary role, our clients will nominate our founder, Ricardo Calderon, as some combination of the following; power of attorney, medical power of attorney, health advocate, trustee, co-trustee (serving beside the original trust settlors or other parties) or successor trustee (to settle an estate at the death of the surviving spouse).
A power of attorney (POA) document allows a client to designate an agent to perform specific transactions on their behalf. When given power of attorney, this agent can work with their financial institutions and legal service providers; buying and buying assets, dealing with annuity and life insurance companies and coordinating healthcare needs. Furthermore, a power of attorney for healthcare and advanced medical directive allow the agent to make critical end of life decisions in compliance with the client's final wishes.
Trustees have multiple responsibilities and frequently face difficult decisions when carrying out their fiduciary duties. These responsibilities include understanding the terms of the trust, preparing trust accountings, monitoring the investment and stewardship of trust assets, coordinating with tax advisors and legal counsel, coordinating discretionary distributions to beneficiaries, and making final distributions to trust heirs.
